The 21st Century Rise of Black Theology (AKA) Black Liberation Theology
EMBITTERED and Disenchanted by the modern-day brand of Protestantism, many blacks have converted to something new: black theology, which strives to correlate the Bible to their circumstances. Black theology thus emphasizes that blacks should be treated with the same honor and dignity as whites because blacks also were created in the image of God. Among Black Theology's notable themes are the liberation of Israel from Egypt and the sufferings of Jesus. ‘God is on the side of the oppressed’ is its rallying cry.

Monthly Statement on Engagement:
Dialog on my page:
Most of you know, I love to disagree. In fact, I find that disagreements are what helps make society better, sharpens our intellect, and makes keen our insights. I am honored that people disagree with me and have for years, but remain an active part of my page. A part of intellectually disagreeing, I generally keep the following standards for engagement.
1. Avoid personal attacks. Not only is it a sign of weak arguments, but it is also wrong.
2. Comments should be ultimately constructive. Agree or disagree, the hope is to engage intellectually without just drive-by commenting.
3. This page's ultimate authority is Scripture and as a sub-standard, the Westminster Confession of Faith, which I believe properly reflects the teaching of Scripture.
4. Generally, I try to let others on my page have the last word.
5. Please do not always expect me to respond to your comments. While I try to read most comments, I can't respond repeatedly. However, many times I read comments and weigh if I should respond. The reason I don't respond range from respecting your opinion to lacking time and a myriad of other options.
6. Please do not private message me unless you have no other option or you are a real-life friend. Some weeks I get few messages and other weeks I get more than I can handle.
7. All my opinions are my own and do not reflect any other organization.
Thanks for engaging, and I appreciate how active people are on my page.
Thanks,
Derick
