At its foundation, Christianity is based on evidence.

First Corinthians 15 recounts the critical core of Christianity: the resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Without Jesus’ resurrection (a historical event), there is no Christianity and no hope for a future in heaven (a theological assertion).

If Jesus is nothing more than an embellished legend, then the hope of heaven is little more than a wish. In order for Christianity to be true, it must include a belief in certain historical facts and a belief that the Bible preserves an accurate account of those events. This establishes the identity of Jesus as the resurrected Savior.

"Evidence," at least as it is understood in modern times, may not convey the proper understanding. "Fact" or "events" or "reality" might work better. Even in the OT, God appeals to those who were present for His rescue of His people from Egypt to tell the next generation about what they saw. He makes the same appeal regarding the events at Mt. Sinai when He established His covenant with Israel. By working these signs very publicly, God establishes that He is not like the false gods people worship.

There are other examples, as well, such as God commanding Joshua to build a monument of rocks in the middle of the Jordan river as the Israelites crossed it on dry land (God parted the Jordan as they entered the Promised Land, just as He parted the Red Sea when they left Egypt) so that future generations would know what had happened.

I agree that when all evidence is laid bare God's existence is known. Nevertheless, it is history and the "evidence" that depends upon God. He is the primary cause in every event. For this I would say that we begin where the Bible begins: in the beginning God... There is no question. The burden of proof rests not on the Christian.

I am just grateful for the app! I have not fully left FB as of yet I need to download 12 years of pictures off of it still. And that is how I stay in contact with many folks I know will never leave that cesspool. But thank you so much Anthony for creating this free space to speak uncensored and free

I'm grateful for CornerTable; I've tried MeWe and it's klunky and you have to pay to have the ads removed, create a page or have emoticons.

I've been here for 3 months before it was cool and I prefer this to others

Always right to pray this way at every moment. The kingdom develops now through the born again kingdom expanding (John 3:1-16; Acts 1:8) & peripherally as they spread salt & light (see Matthew 5:13-16). The kingdom also comes when the King returns in the future when the Christocracy begins with Christ physically present here (watch out though for the pagan false Satanic preterists who claim there is no future return of Christ).
