I am relatively new to this platform. Can someone tell me the best way to search for friends. I think that some people I know might be here, how do I find them?

the only way I have found so far is by using the search bar at the very top of the page.

There is a box in the right margin with the label "People you may know." There ought to be 4 names in it. If you click on the 'refresh' icon to the top right of the same box, it ought to give you another 4 names. Keep doing that.
