When big tech is aimed at little tech and the little guy, we all become worse. When Samsung fights with Google and Facebook fights with Apple, we all become better!

that was good stuff, but then Apple plays a similar game when it takes a position on topics that are none of their business. This is alluded to in this article:

"What are the consequences of prioritizing conspiracy theories and violent incitement simply because of the high rates of engagement?

What are the consequences of not just tolerating but rewarding content that undermines public trust in life-saving vaccinations?

What are the consequences of seeing thousands of users joining extremist groups and then perpetuating an algorithm that recommends even more"

What does Cook believe is a conspiracy theory? The idea that the election was stolen. How does he feel about criticisms of the COVID vaccines? What is an extremist group to Cook? The Republican Party itself? I bet he does. So, its all well and good for him to come out against FB but as the article itself suggests, this is not because he is concerned about the basic rights of citizens, but because HIS business depends on perpetuating the idea that Apple cares about the privacy of his customers.

Cook is speaking as a businessman, not a moral philosopher.
