1612111980that was good stuff, but then Apple plays a similar game when it takes a position on topics that are none of their business. This is alluded to in this article:

What does Cook believe is a conspiracy theory? The idea that the election was stolen. How does he feel about criticisms of the COVID vaccines? What is an extremist group to Cook? The Republican Party itself? I bet he does. So, its all well and good for him to come out against FB but as the article itself suggests, this is not because he is concerned about the basic rights of citizens, but because HIS business depends on perpetuating the idea that Apple cares about the privacy of his customers.
Cook is speaking as a businessman, not a moral philosopher.
