Some of the same people who declared they would never watch the NFL again are predicting the Super Bowl scores. #awkward.

Was There Really an Epistle to the Laodiceans as Stated at Colossians 4:16, and, If so, Why Is It Not In Our Bibles?

Was there really an epistle to the Laodiceans, and, if so why is it not in our Bibles? Some scholars maintain that the letter to the Ephesians was not specifically to those at Ephesus but rather it was a general letter to the Ephesians and the Laodiceans, mentioned at Colossians 4:16. In addition, they say, is that the words “which are at Ephesus” found in most translations of Ephesians 1:1 are an addition to the text. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him (Rom 8:15-17, ESV).

In second century AD, roughly 95% of non-Christian literary texts were bookroll (scroll) and 5% were codices. Christian texts particularly writings deemed Scripture, 75% were codices and 25% bookrolls.

So bookworms, you can thank Christians you don’t have to unroll your book to read it.
