1661927532The Formula of Concord - Haven’t read it all but read about it and perceive somewhat of a going back and forth; anyway I do agree with this excerpt from it - “If we want to consider our eternal election to salvation profitably, we must always firmly and rigidly insist that, like the proclamation of repentance, so the promise of the gospel is universalis, that is, it pertains to all people (Luke 24:47). Therefore, Christ commanded preaching ‘repentance and the forgiveness of sins in his name to all nations.’ ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son’ for it (John 3:16). Christ has taken away the sins of the world (John 1:29); his flesh was given ‘for the life of the world’ (John 6:51); his blood is ‘the atoning sacrifice for . . . the whole world’ (1 John 1:7; 2:2). 1661870611my impression is that russia is doing just fine when it comes to the sanctions. it all looks and smells like one giant scam. we should have stayed out of this. It is hard not to see our support of ukraine as constituting a declaration of war on russia on our part. the fact that russia hasn't already started shooting at us is a near miracle (but wise on putin's part) and if russia ever DID begin suffering from our actions, mortally, it would start doing so--justifiably. Ukraine is not worth the US being in a hot war, imo, and I think 75% or so of Americans agree with that. But we are getting away with our interference so far so fool ourselves into thinking we are not in a hyper-aggressive posture already. We ourselves have bombed people/countries for less.
