DEEP BIBLE STUDY is no guarantee that spiritual maturity will result but a lack thereof is a guarantee that spiritual immaturity will result.
Almost ALL hermeneutics books today are inundated with biblical criticism, which dissects the Word of God until it becomes the word of man. These scholars do not have a high view of Scripture as absolute inerrancy. To be frank with you, you should read ALL of these books. Mine at the end is not a necessity, but the others are.
