Here are my wicking tubs for some of my newest fruit trees. I have black clay soil (gumbo when wet), and when it rains hard or for several days, water just stands and drowns out my trees. So I have added to my fruit trees by using wicking tubs. I got the idea from an older man named Leon in OK on YouTube. He uses squares of cloth but I found they were too bulky so I went to strips. My steps are shown in the pictures. Besides the ones shown here, I’ve planted peaches, figs, blueberries, tomatoes, and mint in these types of tubs. I have all sorts of gardening bed types, but this is my newest one. So I’m also self sustaining for citrus and trees that I can take with me if I move. (Looks like pictures load up in any order they want, so start from the other end! I'll post the planted trees in comments.)
