Theological Thursday (for the theology nerds or couch theologians): The question this week is what of the gift of tongues? Have they ceased or is it a spiritual gift found in the church today? Please back your answer with biblical facts and take into account Paul's instructions to the church in Corinth (1 Cor 14).

That we may bring the word of our savior and redeemer to all languages spread throughout God's earth.
My question is about the purpose of tongues to those who do not know the language but blither in gibberish and say they speak in "tongues". Could that be harmful to the spirit and welcome a darker presence? Not judging, seeking counsel from those wiser than myself.
