The replies (on that group) countered with the lag between peak of cases and deaths

we'll see, but I'm skeptical. it seems that the health system finally has a handle on how to treat it, even without a vaccine. the whole put them on respirators thing was a fiasco.

They could probably test their theory about it being about lag by also superimposing on this the number of hospitalizations. From what I can tell, it isn't just the deaths that are low, but also the hospitalizations. It seems unlikely to me that you'll have a spike in deaths without having a spike in the hospitalizations.
