The plight of mankind is the original sin of Adam. The only cure for this is an inward spiritual change that is accomplished through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
For there is no truth in their mouth;
their inmost self is destruction;
their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongue (Ps 5:9, ESV).
