Seriously, Gates, who supports the garbage described in this film, continues to have his land farmed by conventional means.

To date, wind energy is by far the most successful intervention ever devised to destroy the free market. Over 6% of the landmass of the US has been handed over to state and federal environmental agencies since 2011 through wind “gifts.” Add to that the 30 X 30 program introduced the third day Biden was in office, and we’re experiencing a near bloodless takeover of our country.

Yes, there is also a growing coalition between socialists and hyper-capitalists, mostly those who have created dynasties through monopolies. Bill Gates is the largest landowner in my part of Texas, but his holdings pale in comparison to the newly acquired properties of the environmental agencies.

Because local chambers of commerce love the federal dollars being poured into the communities; schools love the buildings being donated, and newspapers and television stations love the huge influx of advertising dollars the developers are offering. Ironically, wind has eviscerated the farming and ranching communities as ag families leave the area, but greed is short-sighted, and leftists are enamored by their own generosity as they destroy all their neighbors have worked for.

Oops! I was saying that I actually didn't produce for them long, though I did dedicate a large portion of my life converting my herd and operation to that end. Each outlet in that industry has unique standards and all are extremely difficult to meet. They're formulated far less around producing healthy beef than insuring a cheap supply--usually at the expense of the producer. HOWEVER, I was able to find a seedstock producer in Colorado who bred cattle that seemed capable of meeting their standards. That ended when the CREZ was rerouted (a trick they use to prevent legal intervention--they announce one route, then change at the last minute) through my ranch, and the efforts of the previous decade and a half were lost.

What I learned through that process was that all chemicals are NOT unhealthy, and some may just insure our future food supply by saving our top soil To that point, the only herbicide I had ever used was a synthetic plant hormone that causes woody plants (scrub brush) to grow themselves to death. It is inert at the moment it hits the ground and has to be applied while the plant is in early leaf stage. As the scrub I was spraying for produced tannins, it was toxic to cattle. This particular scrub is also an alkaloid and is therefore addictive to cattle and deer. (Goats, I am told, tolerate it well.) When it exceeds 25% of a cow's diet, it becomes lethal, however.

The thing is, conventional farming techniques like plowing destroy healthy soil bacteria and enzymes needed to supply nutrients to plants. Further, in areas with sandy loam, plowing leaves the earth exposed to wind and water erosion. One plowing at an inauspicious time can destroy the topsoil for centuries, though we are learning that intensive grazing rotations that include haying, can restore that top soil quite quickly. (The government is trying to disallow these rotational grazing programs by limiting the number of cattle one is allowed to own, however.)

It's also noteworthy that a few chemicals for broadleafs which are applied during the growing season (used to retain moisture in arid areas for winter crops) are not only innocuous, but they allow dead litter (plant residue) to cover they ground until another crop is planted. This allows a proper soil profile to develop and it further reduces evaporation after summer rains. The longterm effect is that they dramatically reduce the need for fertilizers. In fact, I have some winter rye for grazing that I have managed this way and it hasn't been fertillized in over five years. The grazing, over the years, has resupplied both nitrogen and enzymes which had been lost through the farming methods that would be required if those chemicals didn't exist. In short, the judicious use of chemicals--and I'm excluding paraquat, insecticides, et. al.--can be one of the best conservations tools available.
