Welcome new folks. Please remember this is not a multi-billion dollar operation. It won't have all the bells and whistles of FB, but it will have... freedom. In that spirit, remember that there are only 3 privacy settings for posts: Everyone, friends, and me. Check your privacy settings when you post. Use groups, pages, and forum posts to interact with the wider community, without necessarily 'friending' everyone. That may be a more secure way, anyway, right? But do what you want. Still, groups and pages are good routes to go! Again, welcome!
