It’s another fishing expedition to hurt Trump and prevent him from running again. Don’t give any credence to excuses of ‘having a proper warrant,’ because we all saw from the Russia Hoax the FBI is more than willing to lie to get those with rubber-stamping partisan judges. And yes, they do want war. Specifically, they want another Jan 6 style incident to further crack down on “domestic terrorists” and because it’s the only thing they think can save them from election annihilation.

That's exactly right, EB. Of further concern is the understanding that this action will almost certainly precipitate a 'tit for tat' response once the GOP has taken control of the House and Senate, and further if the GOP retakes the White House. There is no way the Dems don't know that, so part of their calculus must be that they never expect the GOP to regain power again. (There is a rival explanation: they really are THAT stupid to not know such a thing... but I don't think that works, here.) Why should they think that?

I agree that they want another Jan 6 'incident' but this one will be national, and the propaganda storm to go with it will be the likes that hasn't been seen. And yes, there are still plenty of daft people left who would fall for it. The key is to not provide a pretext--an act of violence--for them to seize on to. It is exactly this pretext they hope to provoke.

But it raises questions as to whether or not we'll ever have a fair election again. How else to be sure they won't be given their own medicine?

Have to disagree with you on one point AH - The Democrats fear a tit for tat from the GOP? No they don’t. Because we’ve seen over and over that while the GOP will make a lot of noise, they won’t really retaliate in any meaningful way. They can always count on the Establishment Neocons to undermine any real efforts. The Russia Hoax was the greatest political scandal in recent history, and little to no consequences occurred except for a few figures getting fired only to replaced with more partisan actors.

So no, they aren’t afraid of the GOP holding power, except in how it temporarily inconveniences them. The most Democrats have to worry about is the Establishment GOP getting too overrun by Maga candidates, and will save their election shenanigans for those (as we saw with Kari Lake’s election, whose opponent had a very convenient Democrat-style Mail In lead). The Republicans they approve of will be allowed to give cover to the Establishment (because that’s their whole purpose) and the illusion that elections are still legitimate.

My point is that not that they were afraid of it, but that they surely took it into account, and did it anyway. It could be, as you say, that they have decided that the GOP will never take retaliatory action. Or it could be, as I suggest, that they never intend to lose again.

Blindness, confusion and stupidity is the need of the hour towards the enemies of God.
