A fine observation from my tech support son.
"I shouldn't be surprised by this since technology is what I know and do, but calling a retailer like Amazon, and speaking live with a representative from South Africa, using a cellular phone connecting wirelessly to a tower miles away, connecting likely over the internet via fiber optics cables running under the ocean with sound converted to data traveling at the speed of light, into probably a computer with a headset connected at their end... Then getting a written message a minute after hanging up summing up the call, Is pretty incredible to think about.
Then in context, how the entire universe was created with nothing but a spoken voice, albeit, the most powerful ever to exist, but still. It starts to seem more like one of the most simple tasks ever, and really puts into perspective that our greatest achievements are pretty *spelling edit* puny in light of that."
