2 days without power. Not fun! I had a pretty good back up system put in place, but it reminded me of how nice it was to not have to monitor the fuel in a generator, the load on a circuit, etc, etc. Back to blowing through electricity like there is no tomorrow!

Everyone needs to experience this for a few days a year. It would stifle the illusions about electric vehicles and wind and solar without conventional sources.

No doubt. My solar back up system pooped out after 24 hours, and, unlike the gas generator, there was no way to quickly recharge it to get it back into service.
