Passion Week Day 4

We continue with Tuesday, March 31, AD 33 which is day 4 of 14 of our readings. Jesus departs from the temple after his confrontations with various religious groups and teachings. His disciples remark to him pointing out the temple buildings to which Jesus responds: “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down” (Matt 24:2, NASB1995). After this they continue, and Jesus sits down somewhere on the Mount of Olives (v. 3). The disciples then ask Him privately a direct question: “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (Matt 24:3, NASB1995). What follows is Christ’s teaching on the end of times and what is sometimes known as the “little apocalypse.” Jesus teaches on the signs of His return, the tribulation, His actual return, and provides them with teachings from several parables.

This section is difficult to interpret. If you have a good study Bible or commentary use your tools. The internet is the biblical expositors best friend as it is packed with useful information. It can also be our worst friend as a lot of the information is not exegetically sound. Please ask any questions and if I do not know I will research it as time provides. I am busy with work and school as well so it may take some time, but I will get you the information.
