Continuing work on this piece... to answer the question asked yesterday: 1 x 1.6183 is the proportion for the Golden Section, which is what this piece is based on. It is also the approximate distance one can see when looking at the sea from a child’s-eye elevation at the shore—1.6 miles.

This piece is 14 x 23 5/8, a very close approximation of the Golden Section proportion. It is an oil on canvas panel and is close to completion. Now I will just sit and consider its nuances and make minor changes as I feel are appropriate.
