Thankfully, I haven't seen "#defundthepolice" or "abolish the police," in my news feed. (probably because I only have five or six friends here, hehe)

I have consistently, and will consistently support the men and women of blue who serve and protect. Like anything else, and like everyone else, law enforcement men and women included, I (we) won't support or defend those who are corrupt. That should be obvious. It's a similar story for the men and women who serve and have served the country honorable. Scripture says that there is no greater love than to die for your brother/sister...more so, the willingness to die for those who themselves do not support your efforts.

As we were enemies of Christ, Christ still loved and loves us. I therefore, will not support '#defundthepolice," but instead will

#defendthepolice

By this I mean, I will support and defend the men and women who sacrificially and honorably (of which there are hundreds of thousands,) serve and protect, me, and you.

More potential context for part of a discussion I was having with some friends earlier this week Also, a new tidbit about George Floyd. Sounds like he was a Christian, and maybe even Lutheran.

Also, this is the first I'm hearing about Concordia, Selma being closed in 2018. Way to go Concordia University System. Keep Concordia Irvine, which is sitting on land worth millions and let the only Lutheran HBCU go under? Not a good move.

Black Clergy Caucus Statement on George Floyd โ€” The Unbroken Cord

The year was 1967. A few years prior, the last remaining historically Black college and seminary dedicated to training Black Lutheran clergy was closed by the Synod. The nation was in unrest. Racial injustice was being protested in a nation tha

I've been trying to get a better perspective on being black in America for several months. A great resource is the Moe Factz with Adam Curry podcast/YouTube channel. Moe is a black American and Adam Curry is one of the co-hosts of another podcast that I listen to. Moe Factz is a little different in that the episodes aren't completely linked to current event and are meant to be a perpetually relevant resource. I found the episode about MLK (#22 The Dream Maker) especially enlightening. This week's show (#40 Politricks) is shaping up to be another important one. I encourage everyone to give it a try.

This is the latest video from a black Christian conservative YouTuber that I subscribe to. Worth the 8 minutes or so to get a different perspective on some of the events taking place.
