I'm surprised the NYT ran this story.

I posted some in the end of america page. or was it the conservative group. anyway, you can check that. I still believe Trump is going to win and I believe that under normal circumstances his win would be considered decisive. But under these circumstances, he needs to win massively. Even if he wins the popular vote as well as the electoral vote, if the popular vote margin is slim, there will be riots.

I admit that I will be shocked if Trump does not win. But probably not as shocked as one might think. I feel like I was able to get out ahead of the covid response thing in large part not because of my analysis of the virus itself (which, I admit, was exquisite) but because of my analysis about our government, its likely response, and the response and impact on the general population. In sum, people are easily frightened, all the more so if they have abandoned God. If there are many more Americans huddled in their basements looking for Biden (read: a 100% national lock down until we are all starving and completely reliant on the government for EVERYTHING) than I anticipate there being, this strikes me as at least plausible. I told my wife at the beginning... maybe in late April, I think... that unless people experience hunger, lose their homes, etc, due to the covid response, they will never learn. We came very close to seeing this happen. In fact, this weekend I realized that the death of George Floyd actually saved us all (in the near term). It put the lie to the idea that there was no greater cause than hunkering down to deal with the virus, and provided a pretext for many (republican) states to open up. There are, as it turns out, other greater causes. (Eg, like not starving to death.) But, this lesson not learned, we still have it to learn. If Biden wins, I fear we will learn it yet.
