Deuteronomy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEWW8hhj190 I've recently listened to a pastor that emphasized that we can't fully understand the New Testament without knowing the Old Testament. I have to admit that the genealogy, the details of the sacrifices, and the repeating of many of the things was tough to get through in Gen-Deut, but it finally said the reason for that was to show the other societies that this one was ordered by their God and not just random. And after doing our family's genealogy, I understood that it showed their continued connection from the beginning. From teaching, I know that people need to hear things many times before it sticks, which is why in my opinion, things were repeated so often in the same book as well as in several further books, especially when dealing with new generations that didn't experience the deliverance from Egypt etc. It also is foreshadowing Christ before the prophets have even begun.
