Great minds from our past once looked up at a star cluttered night sky with a mixture of awe and curiosity.

Men like Galileo saw new stars, moons, and planets. They challenged the beliefs of the time through science and reason. Facts and time proved their ideas correct.

These men, along with so many others their ideas and actions inspired, imagined a world made better through science and technology. They imagined the eradication of disease, hunger, and so many ills that has plagued mankind from the start.

Many of these thinkers of the Middle Ages were also men of faith. Their discoveries didn't diminish their faith in God. They strengthened them. They saw their work as a service to God by studying His vast creation.

Man yearned for a better tomorrow. A tomorrow where our scientific breakthroughs would take us to the farthest reaches of our Milky Way Galaxy and beyond. A world free or limited of disease.

Watching SpaceX and its reusable rocket soar into space, and return to earth intact, to be used over and over again, was truly inspiring. Especially considering it was a private company that did it, apart from government.

I can only imagine the joy that would belong to men like Galileo and DaVinci, if they could witness this amazing technology today.

But our reality today is far removed from their dreams of yesterday. That reality is this: the ever growing and encroaching beast of collectivism and socialism threatens to limit or eliminate altogether, the dreams and innovations of private companies like SpaceX and Vrigin Galatic.

The fact is that the bigger the government and the greater the system of collectivism, the less men like Elon Musk.

We have made amazing advancements in science and technology which, paradoxically, was made possible through the ideas of Judeo Christianity, which champions individual liberty and the rights of man.

Those ideas led to a free Republic and free market system which limited the power of government. Untethered from the constraints of a socialist or collectivist system, the individual was free to create the technology that has brought us into space, and enriched the lives of far more people than any other system.

But modern man in his hubris, blinded by their ingenuity our faith and values made possible, have rejected God. Instead of being inspired by faith in a Creator, we seek to replace the need for that Creator.

In abandoning our faith, we are repeating the mistakes of all past societies who kicked God out. The value and identity of the individual becomes lost. The ideology of Collectivism takes hold. That ideology rejects God, sees humans as servants to a system instead of a system in service to Man.

Today, future Elon Musks and Galileos are far less likely because of our flirtation with Collectivism. In our atheistic desire to be God and control others, we kill the ingenuity and freedom that would take us closer to the very type of society Communists promise us, but cannot deliver.

Question: What did the Socialists use before candles?

Answer: Electricity.

This often repeated saying is far more accurate than we know.

Unless we end our insatiable desire for power and control that belongs only to God, we aren't headed towards a better tomorrow, but to a nightmarish yesterday, complete with the misery, poverty, disease, and death which results from its Godless ideas.
