As a side note: I completed this painting last spring while my physicist son-in-law was sharing my studio as a remote work-space. As he pondered the universe out the studio window, I said, “writer’s block? Try this, ‘dark matter doesn’t exist”. Hence the title and the notion behind the quote. Just try to isolate and “see” dark matter... you can’t. However, without it mixed into the big equations by which physicists understand the universe and everything falls apart.
