A personal friend of mine posted on faceBook. He pointed out that God directed the Jews to sacrifice a lamb or goat and to spread some of the blood on the doorposts and arch. The purpose was to protect themselves from the "Angel of Death". Here is the post - https://www.facebook.com/photo..../?fbid=3951108548246

Here is my comment -
An interesting point - one that I have been considering for some time. Notice also that if there were any Egyptians who complied with this directive from God, we have no record of it. In fact, the Scripture offers only that God's "Angel of Death" did the job. To make sure everyone knew who was doing this job, not only did God announce it, not only did God choose to kill only the first-born sons, but the first-born male of all animals. Who else could do all that in one fell swoop? And we have no indication that any Jews failed to comply. In fact, some Jews shared the sacrifice with neighbors who were less fortunate - who could not actually eat an entire sacrificial lamb (or goat) in one sitting or even overnight. Anything not eaten had to be burned up - no trace except ashes. How appropriate. Ashes - dust to dust. This is a perfect example of God's provision for all who obey.

Sometimes, obeying God is just that easy.
