Howdy 'friends' of the Table: there are many ways to help grow this platform, and you are all already aware of them. However, you may think that the thing holding me back from really taking this forward is money. Nope, not yet. What is necessary are active users. A LOT more. We are at about 400. To pick a somewhat arbitrary number, we need about 5,000. Let me explain why.

For money to be useful right now, I need a place to spend it. I would use that money to advertise the site. But where would I advertise? Twitter? Facebook? They surely wouldn't even allow the ads. I have reached out to some more appropriate venues (eg, thelibertydaily.com) and have not received any replies. I will continue to explore such advertising options, but if they don't reply to me, I'm out of luck.

Moreover, I cannot in good conscience CHARGE for advertising on this site unless there is a user base large enough to justify it.

Approximately 5,000 users would definitely require me to upgrade my server (thus, requiring more money) but at the same time give me something to leverage.

The bottom line is that we need a BLITZ on getting active members, by hook or by crook.

If you happen to know of a well-populated organization that would allow me to promote the site, especially one where you have an 'in' so I can get around their filters, let me know. I'm not afraid to pay to promote the site, if I think I can get a good return on the investment.

I hope this helps.

TIP: As this platform only has 3 visibility settings
(Everyone, Friends, Only Me)
if you want to interact with people without laying bare your whole life,
try creating a page, group, or topic in the forum.
GROUPS can be set to private/invite only.
Don't forget to change the privacy settings on your posts
if you don't want everyone to see them!
