Haggai is called to chastise the remnant in Jerusalem through the assigned governor, Zerubbabel, for the condition of the Temple.
C1v4 - "4 Is it time for yourselves to dwell in your ceiled houses, and this house [Temple] lie waste?"
So Haggai delivers the real message - v8 - "8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build this House, and I will be favorable in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord."
