BEING BORN AGAIN DOES NOT MEAN HUMAN PERFECTION
Genesis 6:5; 8:21 tells us that we are mentally bent toward evil. Jeremiah 17:9 says that our heart (inner person, thoughts, and desires) is treacherous and we cannot fully know it. Romans chapter 7:21-25 tells us that our natural desire is to do bad.
All of this applies to born-again people too. And keep in mind that Satan and many millions of demons have been watch humanity since the flood and while they cannot read our minds, they can know everything about us based on human observation.
WHAT YOUR FUTURE HOLDS FOR YOU
Some very serious times when there will be spiritual slips, maybe even a stumble or two, some days of anxiety, even mild depression, anger, difficulties. It is all part of human imperfection. If spiritual warfare was not a reality, we would not have so many books on it. Spiritual warfare is not just against Satan but also the old person against the new person.
In your brain is white matter. When you have a behavior that has become easy it creates a stream through your brain, so every time that way of thinking or behavior takes place it gets deeper and wider. It is like driving a car. when you first learned your knuckles were white and your entire focus was on the task at hand. After a few years, you could shift a five-speed, change the radio station while eating a Big Mac, and drinking a coke. You were basically driving with your subconscious. BUT if you MOVEDt to England and had to drive on the other side of the road, you would be back to square one. What would happen is in your brain, your new driving would erase your old driving and become easier.
When you start putting on the new person, you are erasing the old person in that you are covering over the stream in your brain of the old way of thinking, feeling, behaving, and building new streams. In this wicked age of human imperfection, you cannot really erase the old, you can only cover it over. It is still there, lying beneath the surface. I pray your life is trouble-free but it is better to be prepared biblically for what can happen than to be blind-sided.
