Partisanship is so lovely.
In spring/summer 2019 DHS Sec called for volunteers (from within DHS) to assist Border Patrol with various non-LE duties so Border Patrol officers could commit more time to enforcement operations. (There is an established program within DHS for doing this.)
A day or so ago the current DHS Sec called for agency volunteers to assist Border Patrol officers.
In 2019, with Trump in the Oval Office calling up volunteers was hailed by Right-wingers as proof Trump was doing all the right things.
In 2021, with Biden in the Oval Office, calling up volunteers is condemned by Right-wingers as proof Biden is doing all the wrong things.
